Some random Ideas of new content (3) Posted: 12 Jan 2021 05:43 PM PST Maxwell's Lab A magical lab built by Maxwell since the establishment of the Constant and for him to operate experiments. After his fall, this laboratory was abandoned and dissolved, but somehow reappeared in front of the survivors and Maxwell himself. Maxwell's Lab entrance always locates in Desert, Deciduous Forest or Mosaic. To enter the lab, players must lower their sanity to let the obelisks open. The first entering from any player will spawn 3 nightmare monsters to attack them. They will not disappear when the player increases sanity. When players are in Maxwell's Lab, they constantly reduce 12 sanity per minute. Hostile Nightmare Monsters sometimes spawn but have some special behaviors: Need to be close to become hostile and only 33% chance drop 1-2 Nightmare Fuel. Nightmare Monsters in here are constantly neutral to Maxwell. Mr. Skits always appears in here whenever with how much sanity. Maxwell's Lab is divided into 3 parts: Maxwell's Laboratory, Maxwell's Forest and Maxwell's Garden. Maxwell's Laboratory: Surrounded by some stone wall with different health similar to the Ruin, but with more walls. A science machine and an alchemy engine will always spawn in here. Several indestructible structures spawn in here. 1.Maxwell Nightmare Condenser: Convert players' all sanity into 66% chance 2-3x Nightmare Fuel or 33% chance 1-2x hostile Nightmare Monsters. Need 10 days to be operated again. Spawn 3x and can be used with 0 sanity. 2.Maxwell Dark Teleporter: Click it will open the map, and players can click a place in the explored area to teleport into there at cost of a Nightmare Fuel. Opening the map will also make other players' positions visible and players can teleport to there. Need 1 day to be operated again. 3.Maxwell Vision Station: Click it will open the map, and player can view the position of different animals or monsters include: Beefalo, Volt Goat, Koalefant, Grass Gecko, Pig, Bunnyman, Chester, Spider, Hound, Walrus, Bosses and other Players. Players can only view the positions of the second that they use the station. Reduce 15 sanity per minute when used. Maxwell's Forest: Some species of mysterious trees abandoned by Maxwell are planted here. They are considered too pretty, dangerous or just simply fail to be approved by Maxwell. 1.Gemstone Tree: Require Pickaxe to be mined. Drop 1x Red Gem(33%), 1x Blue Gem(33%), 1x Purple Gem(33%), 1x Any other Gem other than Iridescent Gem(3.3%), 1-2 Cut Stone, 1x Gemstone Tree Seed or 10% 1 more when mined. Can't be burnt. Need 3 days to grow from sapling to small tree, and average 6 days to grow to a larger state until tall. Doesn't revert to the small tree state once grown up. Only drop 1x Cut Stone when in Small or Normal state. Drop 3x Rocks when dug in Sapling State. 2.Shadow Tree: Evergreen converted by shadow energy and no longer physical. Drop logs and Shadow Cones are completely the same as Evergreen but each log has 15% chance to convert to a Nightmare Fuel. Starting from day 1 to day 100, there are 10% to 33.3% chances to summon Shadow Treeguard when chopped down. Need double the time of Evergreen to grow. Only grow at Night. Shadow Treeguard: Same health as corresponding Treeguard but attack faster, immune to fire. Drop 3x Living Log and 2-3x Nightmare Fuel when killed. Sleep in daytime if pacified with planting normal or shadow Cones. 3.Devil Tree: Similar to Poison Birchnut, being hostile to players and other creatures. Trap players with root and require an Axe or attack (Root: 30 health) to chop down to the root, dropping 3-5x twigs if approached . Attacking players instead if they are being chopped. Drop 3x twigs, 1x living log and 1-2x Devil Tree Seed when chopped. Monsters can also be attacked or trapped, and they deal damage to trees instead: Devil Tree: 300 health. Players can't attack the tree itself and just be able to chop. 4.Tesla Tree: The tree unused by game developers. Similar to lightning rod and attracts lightning. Grow a stage when striked by lightning. Spill the chance of being striked with other Tesla Trees and Lightning Rods. Constantly glowing faintly and glow brightly after being striked. Requires a hammer to be harvested. Dropped 1x Gears(6%) for small, 1x Gears(18%) for normal and 1-2x Gears(36%) for large stage. Drop 1x Tesla Tree Planter (33%) for small or large and 1-2x Planters (100%) for large. Doesn't grow back to small stage. Maxwell Garden: Spawn some unique plants and several Tallbird Nests. 1.Tallbird: Same as those outside. The failed result of one of Maxwell's experiments. As they are created by Maxwell, they are passive to Maxwell in here and neutral to other characters. Nonetheless, they still attack and chase players except Maxwell if their eggs in the nests are taken. 2.Shadow Flower: Players can harvest it for 1-2x Nightmare Fuel at the cost of -5 sanity. Can't be replanted and burnt. Need 6 days and only grow in the nighttime. After 3 harvests from players, they need to be fertilized by Players with 1x Nightmare Fuel. 3.Dark Rose Bush: Players can harvest it for 3x Evil Petals with the cost of -2 health and -10 sanity. 3.3% chance to get a Dark Rose Bush Seeds when harvested. Can be replanted somewhere else. After replanting, they need 1x Nightmare Fuel to be fertilized. Need 6 days to regrow. Doesn't be affected by temperature. Picking flowers, chopping trees or destroying structures in Maxwell's Lab always have 33.3% to immediately spawn an aggressive Nightmare Monster. This is advised to replant them if possible. Farming in DST help plz (Jan ‘21) Posted: 12 Jan 2021 03:00 PM PST I'm so confused by the new gardening equipment ! I've watched a bunch of videos and read several posts about it but I don't know how many patches and updates are between me and those publications. When I place the rigamajig, it runs forever, I can only stop its animation by hammering it. It leaves the earth beige, it doesn't look like the lovely tilled soil in videos, and has a random number of seed hills in random locations. The hoe doesn't do anything. I can fill the watering can but I can't use it on my crops. What gives?? [link] [comments] | ||
Am I domesticating a Beefalo correctly? Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:42 AM PST I'm playing on PS4 so I don't have mods to see Beefalo stats and have no idea if what I'm doing is right or even efficient. I have the Beefalo in a locked place so it doesn't run away. Inside are 2 Salt Licks. I give the Beefalo 5 twigs or 5 bushes, then I mount it and stay still until it forces me off. Then I repeat, 5 twigs or 5 bushes, mount again. I noticed the time period I can mount slightly increases everytime. Right now I can stay mounted for ~3:10 mins. Is what I'm doing correct and fast? I don't have the brush to speed it up but I just want to hear from you guys if I can improve on this process. It's been approximately 23 days since I started the domestication process. Thanks EDIT: Got the Beefalo domesticated ~2 in-game days later. Took me total 25 days, mostly likely because some time was lost before I started this exact method, and few days lost while the Beefalo was in head and didn't have the Beefalo hat yet. Posted: 12 Jan 2021 07:41 AM PST I always like trying something first, going in blind. But so far i have tried multiple times and haven't made it very far (longest run was day 12). The only hamlet guide lists so many things to do, i don't think i could do them in time. I don't want to play as WX. What should i prioritize early on? All advice is welcome, thanks.
