    Your guys’ opinion on the game now

    I used to play a lot a while ago but I fell out of playing as much and am now considering coming back. I used to play a lot around the time shipwrecked came out and it was fun but I eventually grew bored. I tried mods at some points to make building easier and QoL changes to the game, but that wasn't really my cup of tea and I removed them, I am curious as to whether don't starve and don't starve together are worth getting back into as I know a new DLC came out for single player and many updates came to multiplayer, I am looking for advice from veterans so if any can reach out to me about this that would be very appreciated! Thank you.

    April 29th update

    When i opened the game today there was an update, and upon login, I received the crab king banner, and the menu screen is different, with pearl holding a lantern.

    anyone know what this update did?

    Charlie - Character concept

    It's ... charlie!

    Normal Form: (She's like this during the day and noon)

    Stats - 100 health 150 sanity 200 hunger

    Starting items - x4 nightmare fuel

    Debuff - Can only eat nightmare fuel

    Nightmare Form: (Only during the night)

    Turns into a nightmare monster of shadows, very powerful.

    Stats - No Health bar. Sanity acts as health bar instead (150 sanity). 200 hunger. +30% speed

    Debuff - can only eat nightmare fuel, is very scared of the light. Can not equip anything other than - Shadowfire torch, nightmare sword and armor.

    Buff - +30% speed during the night. Each hit deals 70 damage. hits with nightmare sword deal 100 damage each, also reduces durability drain by 25%.

    Monsters simply can not see you, you can kill them freely. They will attack you, but since they dont see you they will just attack the air, where they think you are. You can still get hit by normal monsters if you stand still and not move. Attack speed of monsters decreased by 50%.

    Your fear is actually the Nightmare Shadows which usually start hitting you when your sanity is like 0.. however in charlie's case, during the night these shadows will always haunt you.

    Game mechanic - During the night, the world around you isn't actually dark. You see everything in black-white. You basically see as normal except there is literally no colour.

    Once entering light, you will RAPIDLY lose sanity (which is health basically), as you lose sanity, your character will be more transparent. Per each 1% sanity lost, your transparency decreases by 1%.

    New Crafts as Charlie:

    Shadowfire Torch - Acts like a normal torch, except it emits darkness. You can safely live and travel as nightmare form during the day

    Shadowfire Campfire - Same as above but placeable, to fuel it you use nightmare fuel.

    i really want to get spools for characters but am unsure how to unravel them on xbox dst, does anyone know how to do it and if there's some kind of catch other than i lose an item

    coming back to dst to play with friends, and now i'm encountering an old issue that lead me to quit the solo game - the crafting ui. Is there a mod that I can search for an item to craft by text? Can't remember what half the icons look like.
