    I havent played DS since before shipwrecked cane out and I just got it for my switch (as a lovely gift from my fiancee) so any tips or tricks for the game? My usual goal way back was basically bulk up on crafting things and keep moving then build a small base when ready

    My game ate my world??????

    Hello,

    I've never posted here before. Hopefully this doesn't get removed; I haven't read the sub rules because I am LIVID right now and I can't find an answer to my question.

    I recently got a Nintendo Switch, and subsequently became addicted to Don't Starve: Switch Edition. I've been trying not to look too much stuff up, and I've been so happy every time I figure out something new. I've logged over 150 hours in the game since December.

    I just made it to the ruins for the first time. I was armed to the teeth, but unfortunately my sanity was shot and for some reason, my character likes to target Chester instead of the thing that's actually trying to kill me, so I got snuffed by a crawling horror. I had a touch stone up in the overworld, so I wasn't concerned. I made my way back to the same sinkhole I entered the first time, and it regenerated a new cave???? Meaning I couldn't get back to the (same) ruins I was in when I was killed, and therefore lost ALL MY STUFF that took me 100 days to make!?

    There was an update recently that I'm suspicious of. I was already on this save file when the update occurred. Ever since then I've had the game freeze after an hour or so and had to reset it. I saw somewhere that quitting the game at the moment of death in the caves or ruins will cause a reset, but this is NOT what happened. I was killed, respawned at my touchstone, and ran back to the sinkhole immediately. I got the "carving out caves" message, started shitting my pants, then got an error message telling me the program had to force restart.

    Has anybody else had this happen to them???? I'm PISSED.

    Who do you main?

    Just like the title says, I want to know who you main? Is it different for base DS and DST? Do you like different characters for the DLC's? Is there any reason why you main these characters, or do you just like them? I just want to know what people like. Personally, I play Wigfrid for everything just because the life/sanity boost from fighting makes her feel really good to play as.

    Base Building

    I have all 3 DLCs for Don't starve, and I want to do a super-long world. I've never done one of these before, so I need some assistance. I'm Wigfrid and started in Hamlet, and I just built my skyworthy. I already have the key to the city and the executive hammer, so i'm good to go for migration.

    1. Now that I have my skyworthy, where should i go next? Shipwrecked or RoG, or stay in Hamlet?
    2. What realm is the ideal base spot in? My idea was to base in shipwrecked, then reset RoG and Hamlet for looting, but idk if that's the right move.

    How to survive the winter?

    I just entered the winter, I am playing with WX-78. It is my first time going so far, I have a thermal stone and a rabbit hat, I have no beefalos and I am in the savannah. Soon I will kill MacTusk and get the beret. I'm playing the Don't Starve TOGETHER
