This may not be very impressive to some, but today I beat the Deerclops for my first time in an Endless Survival world! Even if I used an HP scaling mod so he's at Normal Reign of Giants Health, I'm still somewhat proud of myself and am on my way to become a better player.

how far does the tide reach in shipwrecked?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2020 01:41 AM PDT

how many tiles in from the beach do I have to build my base in order to not get flooded? I know the monsoon will spawn random puddles but I can deal with that later.

edit: does the tide only appear in beach biomes?

    Funny Shipwrecked storey.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 02:35 PM PDT

Me and my friend decided to take nightly shifts on a shipwrecked world on switch. After ravaging the first island for everything possible, it was time to leave. This was day three when we headed north on a bamboo raft. Some limpets, cooked coconut and seeds, flint, stone, logs, twigs, vines and two bamboo. The first island we came across was a volcano staff set piece on an island with three three, saplings, two rocks and two bits of grass. Having no grass ourselves, we immediately raided this island too. The last thing we did was pick up the staff. It instantly caused an eruption by picking it up and the resulting waves broke our raft. We had no materials to make another. We needed two more grass to make a basic raft. The only grass we had was the two picked earlier. We've been on the island for 5 days, no Armour, no weapons. After the food ran out due to a Charlie attack, we are living off the seeds dropped by birds. We shared the island with one crabbit that we had to kill for food. In my friends turn he was sure we were going to die so he used the staff and destroyed one of the grass.

    Mod Request

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 09:08 AM PDT

Somebody out there please make a mod that replaces treeguards with The Lorax. That is all. They are the complete same but they have a different model and their noises are Lorax noises. This would be great. Thank you and good day.

    Troubles Waters Dish Evaluation (BETA)

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 08:44 AM PDT

    Barnacle Dishes

Requiring only 2 freshwater fish & barnacle, this dish is worth cooking... EXCEPT when you consider Bacon & Eggs.

This dish, as well as its ingredient -fish has a short shelf life. Fish is also an effortful ingredient versus meat, which has MANY sources from Moleworms to Hounds.

I give this dish 2 stars (out of 5). It's a neat alternative for Warly, but that's as far as the dish goes.

This dish has the same stats as Butter Muffin. Because of its ingredients, it has advantages and disadvantages:

Butter Muffin can be created in the first season; many revere it because of that. However, it's a little harder to farm & it's a no-go in Winter.

By the time Barnacle Pita is available, players will already have dishes like Pierogi, Dragonpie, and other dishes with farmable ingredients. Barnacle Pita will become a side HP dish that's been overshadowed by the great Pierogi, even with its ability to be cooked with sticks. The biggest problem is setting up the barnacle farm, to begin with.

I give this dish 3.5 stars. It's not too bad of a dish, especially for Warly.

Barnacle Nigiri is the Seafood Version of Pierogi, however, it lasts half as long as the latter. Although, shelf life barely matters, if at all, with hearty foods.

The two major differences for Barnacle Nirgiri is that its ingredients are specific, HOWEVER, Nigiri allows a stick to be added into the crock pot - an often liked quality in dishes that have them. The biggest problem is setting up the farms to begin with.

I give this dish 4 stars.

This dish as unique stats unlike any other. It's a cheap dish that only calls for a Stone Fruit Bush farm & A Barnacle Farm. Its stats aren't bad. However, it doesn't have a long shelf life, making it less effective for long trips than Bacon & Eggs.

I give this dish a 3 stars. It's a nice variety dish, especially for Warly. But this is the kind of dish one flexes that they have a Barnacle farm & that they remembered the dish.

    Leafy Meat Dishes

This is a godsend. This one of the most easily producible sanity dishes, yet it's so tasty! Lureplant farms are even easier with boats!

I give this dish 5 stars. It's a new meta dish, especially when fighting Ancient Fuelweaver.

This dish has the same stats as Dragonpie, with the Exception of its shelf life which as been halved.

I see it as competition to Dragonpie since a Lureplant farm (& a Stone Fruit Bush Farm) is a LOT easier to manage than a plot of Dragonfruit.

    I give this dish a 4 stars. It's a nice alternative.

This dish spreads itself thin to make only a good dish (though, I congratulate it for being the most well-rounded dish in the game). Since it requires an onion, it locks itself behind the tedious plot farming - inhibiting its ability shine & show its great stats.

Overall, I give this dish 3 stars. A good dish for those who use farm plots.

This is actually supposed to be a punishment dish for player who uses too much Leafy Meat with the exception of Jelly Salad & Surf 'n' Turf.

This dish is given 0 stars, & it was designed to be that way.

But can we talk about how the wide Putin meme song (Song For Denise) sounds like it would fit into DS: Shipwrecked?

Does anyone else think the world-gen and mechanics around it are kinda stupid?

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 02:22 PM PDT

At the beginning of the game, you're supposed to walk around the outline of the map to find where all the biomes are. It takes a ridiculously long time and is, at least in my opinion, incredibly boring. When i start don't starve i don't want to walk for an hour straight, i actually want to build up my base and survive. Yet you have to walk the outline of the map to some degree to find vital biomes. For example, the marsh biome is the only place in the game to find reeds and they just cant be relocated. You need 12 reeds to make a bird cage which is essential to reliably crafting pierogies which you need t o heal yourself during boss fights. And if you're playing wickerbottom, you literally have to find a marsh for her character to have any benefits at all because she cant craft her books without 12 reeds. In most of the worlds i've played in the marsh is super far away from base and i cant even find it half of the time without wasting days in don't starve and like half an hour irl. i recently just spent an hour straight just walking around the map as wickerbottom and i couldnt find any marshes at all except for a tiny one with maybe 8 reeds. Even if you're not playing wickerbottom and don't need a base near a marsh, finding one just to find a bird cage can be tedious sometimes. While you can just download a mod to reveal the map, that excludes the entirety of ps4 and xbox players.

I think there should be a world gen option to fix this. Maybe a marsh would be more likely to spawn to the south, and if it wasn't there it could be to the southeast or southwest. Maybe grasslands would be more likely to spawn next to a rock valley and a rock valley can tend to spawn in the 4 intermediate directions. This would give a use to the compass, something literally no one uses. Whatever the case is, i dont think players should have to wander the map for ages to find specific biomes key to base building. I think there should be more reliable ways to find these biomes so that you dont have to walk the outline of the map aimlessly, but instead walk specifically south so youre at least pointed somewhere to go to, or walk the outline of a grassland to find a rock valley.

    Winona's catapult

    Posted: 15 Jul 2020 06:07 AM PDT

So I and my friend are planning to use the catapult to assist with bee queen. However, there will be bunnymen for assistance too. When the catapult attacks the bee queen, will the bunnymen also take damage? And if so, will their aggro target be changed to the catapult? Any answers appreciated.
