Can anyone provide a good description of each island of Hamlet? Posted: 16 Jul 2020 09:31 PM PDT I know some things like the starter island has a hamlet and ruins that lead to some other islands, one of which has the palace city, but I can't find a description of each island online. Do some biomes always have more of a particular biome, mob, resource, etc. than the others? Anything unique about each one? [link] [comments]
I think there should be a second "Ruins" in the caves. Posted: 16 Jul 2020 01:43 PM PDT The caves, in my opinion, has an issue. The only thing of any real importance is the ruins. The small "forest" biomes, rock biomes, and mushtree biomes are all a bit bland and feel like they only have a couple things going for them. My proposition is that there would be another "fabled land" that is on the entire opposite side of the caves as the ruins. It would have to contrast the dark, post-civilized, quiet, and brooding atmosphere of the ruins. Maybe a colorful jungle-like area with bright greens, purples, and plant life all over, turf that damages you to walk on, a large flowing river that requires you to make a boat to proceed. Deep underground, there's a jungle bustling with colorful and unique life. There's Crocoducks that swim and snap onto your boat, waterstriders, Flamingos (that are actually flaming), and leafcrawlers, leafy spiders; they're purple. they walk on water, and lunge at you, if they miss they can fall into the water. instead of silk, they have grass, instead of glands, they have honey, and instead of monster meat, they drop leafy meat. Their nests can't be relocated, and they never get a spider queen. It's a river, so your boat will automatically flow down the river unless your anchor is down. Instead of the nightmare cycle, there is a time where everything is calm, the mobs all run away, and the river stops flowing. Since normally, you're getting constantly attacked by semi-aquatic monsters, this is your time to gather yourself and possibly push forward in the river without having to fight an enemy. Ideally, the river would take about two in game days to get through, as you have to anchor frequently as to not get overrun by the mobs. Once you reach the end of the river, there's a "strange glacier" near the end with a preserved creature inside (like a caveman). Your character can't interact with it. During summer however, the glacier is melted enough to break the ice, freeing a "dockroach" (because they live on a dock). They're a Pearl-esque NPC that you can talk to. They were a member of the ancient civilization (the same creature in the thulecite statues), preserved in ice. They dance for you like Pearl does and can cast shadow spells. You give them a bunch of materials to rebuild their fishing boathouse in return for blueprints for improved versions of pseudoscience gear (a thulecite suit that can be equipped simultaneously with an amulet, a pick/axe that uses a green gem and can be refueled with nightmare fuel, etc). Their house, after you break them free, has a large waterfall behind it. During the next winter, it will freeze. In the overworld, there will spawn a glacier cave entrance near the shore of the lunar island that can be used to slide down the frozen waterfall right by the dockroaches' house. without having to make the trip through the river. Even deeper along the river, there would also be an area where you face a boss, the "carpet python". It would hang from a giant tree, wrapped and hanging around, as you fight in the water with a waterfall behind him. swinging it's tail to attack. It would have different phases at health intervals, marked by skin shedding. Each different skin would give the snake a different element or bonus (one green skin with nothing special, one red skin with a fiery tail, one blue skin with a freezing tail, one yellow and black skin with quick attacks, and one purple and black skin that summons shadow creatures). The reward would be it's fangs, skin, and blueprints for different fancy carpets that give different things corresponding to the carpet python's different skins in the boss fight. the green turf makes things grow slightly faster, the red turf gives heat insulation for winter, the blue turf gives cool insulation for summer, the yellow and black turf gives 40% movement speed (a bit more than cobble), the purple and black skin makes shadow creatures unable to attack players on it. the fangs can be used to craft a scythe, allowing you to pick grass tufts, lichen, saplings, papyrus, berries, cactus (without getting hurt), or lightbulbs instantly as you would picking something up (with infinite durability like a walking cane). The snake skin you would use for a weapon called the "carpet burner", a weapon that does massive damage if the target is on fire. Maybe you could also have a pet snake from the critter den with the fangs, I don't know. [link] [comments]

I played with all of the Giants on Lots Posted: 17 Jul 2020 12:15 AM PDT On day 34, Goose spawned. In Winter. Odd, but that's happened before. Day 39 and then both Deerclops and Bearger spawn!? I got them to fight since they both have AoE attacks. Bearger won and I stole his food and killed him because he was weakened. And then three seconds later Dfly shows up. In Winter. Conclusion: Set all of the Giants to Lots and watch hell break loose. [link] [comments]

What can I build with Winona's Catapult? Posted: 16 Jul 2020 01:41 PM PDT I have made a bunnymen farm with the catapult, but what else can I do with this structure? What else can I farm with the catapults? Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Jul 2020 01:41 PM PDT I'm playing DST with Maxwell and realized blowdart does 100 dmg, almost twice as much as the slingshot. Besides freeze rounds, is there any point of sticking to using slingshot when there's a far superior alternative? [link] [comments]
I need tips for a very balanced PVP Posted: 16 Jul 2020 09:11 PM PDT So tomorrow me and my friends are gonna play a DST pvp thing. We have been playing pvp for the past few days with Random spawner enabled but every time me and whoever my teammate with ends up winning. We decided to balance it out by doing a 3v1 where they all play as a character of their choice and start with, Moggles, Lazy Deserter, Dark Sword, and Thulecite Crown, and I start with... Wes. yes I am determined to torture myself no I don't have a problem. Anyways I am unsure of what my game plan should be, we have a 10 day grace period before pvp is enabled. Idk whether I should rush the ruins or try and get ham bat and football helm or try and rush Magic for Dark sword and Night Armor. Any tips helpful [link] [comments]
