    Hey there fellow Don't Starve players. I created a character mod quite awhile back of Conker from Conker's Bad Fur Day for Don't Starve Together and wanted to share it for anyone who would be interested in trying it out.     Does anyone have an updated command for printing the world seed? (DST)

    I've used:

    print(GetWorld().meta.seed)

    print(TheWorld.meta.seed)

    but neither seem to be working. I've gotten the second of the two to work before but it seems very iffy and I can't figure out the conditions for when it will and will not work.

    EDIT: Found an extremely helpful comment by u/aintgotimetobleed from a year ago. Resposted here for visibility:

    The server will output the world seed in the Cluster_${n}/Master/server_log.txt file when it is initially generating the world and you will be able to find the seed there during or after the server launch that created the world. Restarting the world wipes the log file. This being said it's been some time (2 years ?) since I fucked around with seeded worlds.

    when I reopen it, there's nothing mentioned about the seed

    it's not a fancy display, it's just a 32 bit integer

    Note that server side ("Remote" in blue displayed before the command prompt) print commands will not display anything in your console, only client side ("Local" in red displayed before the command prompt) ones will be able to do that. And of course most useful commands are completely useless when run locally. This being said, GetWorld().meta.seed seems to give an OK value on both client and server side.

    You can still see the output of remote commands by wrapping them with c_announce rather than print, so c_announce(GetWorld().meta.seed) should work. Alternatively, all commands and their result will appear in the server_log.txt file I mentioned earlier (note you'll need to go in the caves folder if your character is currently in the caves)

    GetWorld().meta.seed

    GetWorld() has been obsolete for years, the recommended command would become TheWorld.meta.seed. Although thinking about it I'm not sure klei will ever remove GetWorld().

    That doesn't really work, there's some mild anti-tampering measures against that sort of things : there's a file in the config folder (I think it's client_save/profile ?) that tells the game which save slots are legit. Because of this, restoring from backups is usually done as all-save-slots-at-once.

    I get the feeling some of the methods listed out there are for PC

    I doubt it considering I've never been able to notice any difference between the linux and windows versions besides the obviously different paths.

    The game's more than 4 years old, most likely you're looking at old obsolete guides. Any technical guide preceding the addition of caves is as good as trash and many more changes happened since.

    I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about but if you're referring to the entire scripts folder disappearing from the visible hierarchy and reappearing inside a zip file; that move was done during one of the christmas updates (one year ago ? or maybe 2 years ?) for all versions of the game.

    TLDR; c_announce(GetWorld().meta.seed) works right now for getting the seed in game. The seed I was trying to find was for this world where the lunar biome is attached to main world gen and is close to important resources (marsh, Dfly, etc.): 1580702313 (cave gen on).

    Willhelm: The Hyperborean

    William's character is a character to counter Willow's Fire-like tendencies.

    Stats:

    Unlike Willow, Willhelm has high-ish sanity at 225.

    However, Willhelm doesn't last long without food or healing with 125 hunger, and 90 health as he is pre-teen. This makes him the 2nd (from what I know) fragile character, being beat by Maxwell's measly 75.

    Perks:

    Freezes slower, but burns faster Can craft icy armor Pretty cold

    Willhelm is a winter character, but WILL die during summer unless you get ice and other cooling necessities. He will freeze slower, and is less likely to be frozen by Deerclops and Ice staff, but Overheats faster and takes 25% more damage from dragon fly.

    Ice Helmet and Ice Torso can both be crafted with 14 ice. Wearing either or both during Autumn, Spring, or Winter can kill you with freezing.

    His "Pretty cold" perk allows all food to rot 25% slower in his inventory, except ice with 50% less rot.

    Personality: Willhelm is a calm, but brute character. He describes things with unnecessary, rhetorical details.

    Ex. "This Red,Feathery, Cardinal is very evasive."

    His voice is either Trombone playing E, C, and F, or a piano playing G position or Major C position.

    I hope that at least someone sees this

    Edit: He can get bonus insulation based on how big his hunger is. Every 5 hunger = 1 insulation

    The HOUNDS are COMING!

    Yo! Its Aver, im at now currently at day 4 in the original dont starve game. Im concerned about the hound attack since they will attack every 8 to 10 days. I would like to know some tips on surviving when the hounds come.

    Some of you might have already game me some tips in this subreddit about surviving during the attack but im curious to know all of your thoughts on it :)

    DST Question About Powerful Trap

    Does anyone know if James Bucket's video, "The Most Powerful Trap in DST" still works with the return of them update?

    The trap is as follows: go to the end he of the map; put down a wardrobe behind you & it will glitch and push you forward until you're walking on water.

    Result: bosses some be able less reach you and you can kill them from a distance.

    I am at day 109, with Wickerbottom. The world is on default Settings and im almost at half spring. Im located in the oasis, nearby there is a big swamp, the rocky biome and the bee biome. So far i built: The science machine, prestihatiator, 6 chests, 4 ice boxes, 2 crock pots, 8 drying racks, 6 advanced farms, think tank, a spiky trap zone, a small meat farm with 4 pig houses, a berry/gobbler farm, twiggy tree farm and a 40ish grass farm. I got chester and glommer, and got all the carrat race rewards. I was planning to build a bee farm in autumn but i didn't have enough time, and the lunar island is out of discussion because of the almost costant hound attacks. But overall i have a lot of problems to think about: Some of my tall grass suddently became grass geckos, as said first the hound attacks, the advanced farms worked well all year long but suddently all need to be fertilized very often.
