stupid idea i had whilst building a boat bridge

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 10:50 PM PST

Aight, so I was building a bridge from boats when i got this idea in my head; what if there was height? It's probably a bad idea, but I had this idea of stairs or platforms that a player could use to make bases, or maybe even add some terrain, like a bit of land raised above the ground that would require the player to make some stairs to traverse, or even adding the ability to jump onto the raised surface.

On top of that, I wish they added a way to build a bridge to cross a gap, such as using some wooden turf to make a bridge over some random pit in the caves, or something of the sort.

In order to take on bosses

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 10:48 PM PST

Is there in order in which I can do bosses from least hardest/prep time to most hardest/prep time? (excluding the Giants as I have done all but Antlion)

Leaving Caves as ghost while being the only player on a server

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 10:46 PM PST

Is it possible at all, or is it meant to always end in disaster?
Because I just attempted to do so - knowing that a touch stone is close to the caves entrance - and upon using the staircase, rather than appear on the surface, the game decided the timer has run out, and immediately started generating a new world, erasing everything I had.

Is that a bug I unfortunately encountered, or it not meant to be possible to leave the caves as ghost?

    Begginer friendly characters?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 12:16 PM PST

Hello I just started playing don't starve and I am an absolute noob. I watched a few guides and videos and I know what I'm supposed to be doing. The problem is, I form a pretty good plan but whenever I have to fight something, I get absolutely demolished. I've played Wilson a few times and I get ran over around day 15 (before winter). Is there anyone that is very beginner-friendly in terms of combat (Preferably someone that is an absolute stat stick in the early game with some sort of a safety net)? By the way, I play don't starve together.

    Character concept: Waha the mumsy.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 09:52 AM PST

    Character concept: Waha the mumsy.

    https://preview.redd.it/3weir9lcss361.png?width=964&format=png&auto=webp&s=68a341e0a93a3ed3919a43cc9bea138933a34b6e

Mumsy doesn't really have a name, so I figure "let's give her one and make a character out of her" the art is from "Cheesenuggets101".

    Lore:

The gnaw was pleased and she and billy escaped together from the claws of the cursed plague, but they woke up to find a world devoid of a god to serve, but still dangerous and filled with filth. What a demise is so foul for a pair so beloved.

    Name:

    Waha.

    Title:

    The Mumsy.

    Signature phrase:

    "Baaa! Let this trial begin!"

    Instrument:

    Goat.

    Stats:

    150 health, 150 sanity, 150 hunger.

    Some quotes:

    -Crockpot: "How very modern, dear"

-Monster lasagna: "BAAA! don't eat that billy!"

-Present: "Billy and I are pleased with your offering"

    Traits:

    -Knows her way around dining.

She can make silver plates and bowls with gold and stone, these will enhance the values of any meal by a substantial amount, however, they'll be consumed upon use. She can also make goat's milk with the use of some sanity, this will work the same as electrified milk. She also starts with one level of the food tab already learned. On top of that, cook pots work after when set in motion by mumsy.

    -Has billy by her side.

Billy is a follower that has his own crafting tab when close enough, he can craft his salt racks to get salt out of pounds, fishing rods, and even the slaughter tool all out of gold nuggets. He'll have a ribbon that works similar to Chester's eye so he can be left at base alone. He has a hunger meter as well, tho it drains slower than other survivors. If billy's health gets to 0 he'll become a spooky ghost and mumsy's sanity will be at 0 until he is revived.

    -Closely haunted by the Gnaw.

The old god of her world is still hard on their feet, thus, in the full moon, when the constant's power is lowest, the gnaw will appear in the sky, craving food and punishing the player when not pleased by spawning hostile merms (default merms aren't hostile to mumsy for obvious reasons). The gnaw will give gold back when pleased.

How is the Switch version ?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 04:01 PM PST

I am interested because it has DLCs I don't have on pc (and I also really like the idea if taking the game everywhere with me). Do the controls feel really differently or is it as playable as it is on pc?

    Backpack slots not showing

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 03:37 PM PST

Help, my backpack slots won't show when I pick them up. It's persistent when I go on other servers, even my own! Does someone have a fix for this?

Is there any point to play Don't Starve if you have Don't Starve together ?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 03:34 PM PST

I just started Don't Starve Together with friends and I am currently wondering if there is any point to come back to the regular version, as you can play on solo mode in DST as well?

Where to set up a cave base?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 07:36 AM PST

Every YouTube video I see typically has the cave base right near one of the entrances for light ig. I'm wondering if that's the best place or if there are other criteria to look for when deciding to set down a camp. Since there are no wormholes underground (that I know of) I would assume you'd want to set up near points of interest but again I'm not sure of the whole caves system

Can you stop Beefalo from losing domestication without the salt lick?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2020 07:01 AM PST

I've heard about leaving a beefalo to sleep in unloaded areas freezes the domestication process, but does it stop it after full domestication? Can you still do this while they're awake?
