    First reddit post after 4 years lurking. I started playing DST with a group of friends a couple months back, and wrote this holiday song parody about our experience. Merry Christmas!

    Just hear that creepy moaning and
    Grunting and groaning, that too.
    Come on, it's lovely weather to fight Deerclops together with you.
    Nearby the snow is staying and hounds are baying, "Boowoooo".
    Come on, it's lovely weather to play Don't Starve Together with you!

    Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap
    Let's run, get clear everyone!
    We're wondering why this game is fun.
    Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap
    It's bad, the Deerclops is mad.
    We're barely alive, must survive
    Through this wintery monster lad

    Our screens keep getting icy;
    It's looking dicey to me.
    We're snuggled up together
    Like two Moose of a feather would be.

    There's a Halloween party

    Steam Mega Pack

    Steam Sale this year got my attention to DS again, I've though about buying it to play DSTogether with some friends; The problem is, I wanted to know if the Steam Don't Starve Mega Pack 2020 (https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/15166/Dont_Starve_MEGA_PACK_2020/) includes 1 or 2 copies of DST, this way I could gift one to my friend and get all the DLCs for DS as well.

    I've found some posts on the sub but those were all posted 4 years ago, "2020" is explicit on the pack's name, so I thought maybe it could've changed? Just wanted to know so I dont get disappointed.

    DS woodie werebeaver vs werepig wilba. which one is better?

    what is your opinion about these 2 transformations?

    werebeaver advantages is fact it can be fully invincible with use of wood, and so its perfect at fightning bosses. its great at gathering, is immune to poison but disadvantage is that werebeaver can't use map, loses all items and after werebeaverness woodie ends with awful hp and sanity.

    werewilba can use maps, doesn't lose items and can craft unlike werebeaver. is a bit better at fightning due to more damage and after werepig ends wilba doesn't get any penalty in stats and gets free 2 beard hairs. but disadvantage is huge hunger drain (which can be fatal if caused by 4 or more monster meats) and the fact its not invincible.

    they both share night vision and immunity to freezing and overheating.

    so in conclusion i think werewilba is far superior than DS werebeaver. but it still needs to get on the level of DST woodie transformations which are all situationally good.

    I got so confused about where my city went that I did a map reveal just in case I somehow missed it. And lo and behold, no city on the starting island! Well, except for that little blip of city tiles in the corner.

    I was just going to start a new game but when I revealed the map I saw that the 2nd city exists, and that there is a tallbird fortress on BFB island. So I might just play it out

    I don't really understand why it feels like so many people complain about the community being bad but other than edgy rick,a person who posted about ds making you a slave and the occasional griefer in dst I dont really see what is do incredibly bad about the community. Can someone explain why/if it's bad and have I somehow been lucky and haven't seen that many toxic people?

    A Question About Shadow Pieces Being Unrenewable.

    So in order to make shadow pieces renewable, we need to get the sketches of them right? And the sketch can be obtained by mining the Marble Sculptures on a full moon. So my question is:
    can't we spawn any other shadow pieces if we didn't mine them on a full moon but on a new moon? Or if the sketches burned somehow. Is there any other way of getting their sketch?

    My Flingo was on and full. Yet somehow most structures got burned down. Weirdly enough, the items which were inside the chests and the meat from drying racks was all fine. Is this some shitty ass off screen mechanic which does only happen during single player?
