I feel like I've only experienced about 5% of the game after years of on and off playing.. any tips?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2021 05:33 PM PDT

I'm sure this sort of post comes up all the time. I so want to love this game but I'm genuinely struggling. For a bit of context, I first played vanilla DS back in 2016. I liked it quite a bit but I didn't do too great. I think the farthest I got was around Day 200 but I didn't do too much exploring.

I picked it up again a few years later on switch and found it really hard to get back into.

Well I'm back at it again, this time playing Don't Starve Together with a friend. I feel like I have the basics down of building a base and digging up resources to be self reliant. But I feel like there's this skill block that I just can't get through.

I've been watching a lot of Beard 777 tutorials and honestly most of the stuff he talks about I've never seen and can't really comprehend how to begin to work into my usual routine. I'm still stuck on trying to stock up on food and dealing with seasonal weather...

So my question is--how do I reach the "next level" where I don't have to worry about survival as much any more and I can focus on exploring and engaging with the "hidden" content? Do I just need to stock up on meat balls? Get really good at kiting? Build a pig army? Or is it as simple as practice, practice, practice?

In a lot of the tutorials I watch it seems like the player can get set up in the first 20 days or so in their sleep. I'm wondering what it takes to get to that point (or even halfway to that point).

I understand dying and learning from your mistakes is a big part of the experience but I feel like I've hit a personal skill ceiling...

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

DST mod that makes the mobs health just like in vanilla game

    Posted: 01 May 2021 02:20 AM PDT

I want to play dst with lower health because of the updates, ds doesn't get any updates like "sow what you row". If I play solo dst then its to hard with high health mobs. I would happily play ds if it would get any updates.

On what character should I spend my spools on?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2021 12:13 PM PDT

I am almost there on getting one of the three premium characters. But I am unsure on who to spend in on. I am personally more into summoning and support, and because of that I am thinking of choosing between Wormwood or Wurt. Yet I am unsure on how good they are, especially in solo play and how much content could you pass with them if you there to main them. Again I haven't experienced neither of those characters. So I don't know who would overall work in my play-style. What is your overall opinion on who I should purchase?

Are any of the magic tab stuff useful at all?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2021 04:51 PM PDT

Other than Dark Sword and Night Armor that is.

Ice Staff, Fire staff, I don't think they'd do anything in a boss fight.

Bat Bat seems gimmicky, impossible to reliably obtain outside RoG, and requires purple gems.

At this point I might just not pick up gems at all after I make my shadow manipulator. Takes up inventory space for something I can't find a use for.

[DST] Is there a list what candy Wigfried can eat?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2021 02:09 PM PDT

So yeah, my buddy and me want to go back to DST after a long break. He usually plays Wigfried while i main Warly. On the wiki it says that Wigfried can now eat food items classified as goodies, like taffy.

I've been looking around but could not find a page that list all goodies Wigfried can eat. Can one of you tell me or link me to a site that lists all non-meat dishes wigfried is now able to eat?

Can someone explain what happened in the most recent update trailer (eye of the storm)

    Posted: 30 Apr 2021 12:39 PM PDT

What is that torch thing? Why is the moon also an eye. How can the torch absorb gesdalts? Where is all of this ingame, the trailer and gameplay seem to be disconnected?

My guesses on the next DST character

    Posted: 30 Apr 2021 03:50 AM PDT

Warning: i just watched OrangE's vid about the next character so you may see many similarties in my and his guesses Okay so i just looked on Wortox, Wormwood and Wurt and tried to find similarities between them. 1. They are monsters that WERE in Constant before other characters (even Webber was normal boy before) 2. All 3 have some kind of speed buff. Wortox can teleport. Wormwood's speed increase when he "grows" Wurt runs faster while in swamp. 3. All 3 have stats downsides Wortox gets 0.5 hunger from food Wormwood dont heal by food Wurt is a vegetarian. And now we have 2 characters and one of them may be next character. Wilba and Wilbur Wilba has a speed buff and her sanity drains 1.5x faster when it is dark Wilbur also has a speed buff, but his hunger drains 1.33x faster when he runs. But, i am sure that if one of them is going to be next character its going to be Wilba. Look: Firstly, Monkees are friendly to Wilbur, BUT Webber already has this ability. And he can throw shit. Walrer already has this abilty and he can use other materials instead of poop. So im 50% sure its going to be Wilba and if not its going to be another character exclusive to DST
